Once an industrial powerhouse, Wayne Junction is now a model for adaptive reuse and historic preservation. This walking tour will explore how vacant buildings have been transformed into thriving spaces for living and working thanks to Historic Tax Credits, Opportunity Zones, and community-driven efforts.

Guided by developer Ken Weinstein Kim Chantry, the tour will highlight key sites within the Wayne Junction Historic District, showcasing the challenges and successes of balancing preservation with redevelopment.

This program is part of the Conservancy’s Discovering Chestnut Hill series, which offers expert-led programs on local history, architecture, and landscapes.

The Conservancy’s Lead Sponsor, Chubb, General Sponsors, and members support the Conservancy's public programming. The Discovering Chestnut Hill is supported by Event Sponsor John B. Ward & Co. Arborists and Supporting Sponsor E.G. Rall Landscape Design.
